A Weight Lifted

I really love Facebook, and I really REALLY love being connected with friends from different periods of my life and with family near and far.  Because of Facebook, I know I'm in contact with people that I might not be otherwise.

What I DON'T like about Facebook is the passive-aggression that can exist.  You know, you aren't friends with someone, so they make sure they tag people you are friends with so they can show up in your newsfeed.  We all know people like this.  You don't want to be friends with them for a myriad of reasons, but they want to make sure that you don't forget about them.  And most of the time it is not nice.

You know what I mean?  Grow UP, people.  So, I ended up doing a little blocking tonight.  It was really upsetting me.  And I just can't afford to waste my energy like that.

I feel MUCH better now.

As a kid, I loved the gymnastics and ice skating competitions. Over the last decade, though, I have fallen in love with curling. It's like shuffleboard on ice. I wish it were considered a year-round sport for the Olympics, but I guess the whole "on ice" thing makes that complicated for the Summer Olympics. ;)

I find FB tagging more annoying than helpful, but people seem to like it. I also find the blocker very useful, although thankfully I have not felt the need to use it much. I just wish there were a way to block pages. I'm so tired of people "sharing" photos from pages they like that I don't. I don't want to block someone who truly is a friend, but I also don't need to see every photo she "shares" from the half-dozen different missing-child and amber-alert facebook pages she follows, and the PETA photos of abused animals that another friend shares -- I hate those. It just makes me dislike PETA as much as I dislike the abusers. Sigh. If you know any tricks for that, please pass them along.
